Joe da Silva started his sales career in 1974 by selling encyclopedias door to door in Calgary as a summer job to raise tuition for UBC. After UBC, Joe entered the real estate profession and in 1979 moved into the engineering supply field. In 1982, he was recruited by a resource supply company and eventually joined them to spend 15 years supplying the resource industries; forestry and mining, with exploration and forestry engineering supplies in Canada and around the world.
When the company sold, Joe made the decision to move in a new direction and formed his own resource supply firm. He built that company from ground zero and in 5 years another resource supply company bought his company. Joe stayed as a consultant with the new ownership.
After three years of consulting with the new ownership, Joe moved to a national company to hire, train and manage a sales team to improve an underperforming segment of their business. Joe and the team increased gross sales starting at just under $1M to over $12.5M with a gross profit margin of 29% to 41% in three years. This was achieved while selling products that were significantly more expensive than that of the competition.
Throughout Joe’s career, he has mentored individuals on their challenges in sales and business development in all different sectors. They have become more proficient, productive and profitable leading to success.
Joe has developed unique programs using all of the best parts of all of his training, workshops, seminars, extensive research and experiences of his forty plus years as a sales professional to lead you through the ever-changing landscape of today’s business world.
